Who is the Computer Tamer?

After studying Marine Biology, French, and Electrical Engineering at Long Beach State University in southern California, Natalie Carpenter moved to Pagosa Springs in 1993.  Her first job there was at Radio Shack, which was just opening downtown.  She stayed at Radio Shack for ten years, gaining experience with computers, networking, and a wide variety of electronics.  During that time, she was also editor of the Pagosa Springs Arts Council newsletter, coach of the Pagosa Lakes Porpoises swim team, and a community volunteer.

In 1997, Natalie started a side job as a computer tutor and consultant, offering on-site tutoring and repair services.  One of her first clients suggested a name for her new company that reflected the work she did, and the Computer Tamer was officially in action.

After a permanent maternity leave from Radio Shack in 2003, Natalie continued computer work on the side while raising her three children.  In 2004, she partnered the creation of a local parent's magazine called the Pagosa BRAT, which she left  in 2005 to pursue other computer-related projects.  In 2006, Natalie re-launched her Computer Tamer business, providing the same friendly, patient computer services that her clients have come to rely on.

In addition to her children and her computer business, Natalie enjoys hiking, snowboarding, fly-fishing, swimming and photography, whenever she can squeeze the activities in.
